Bollywood actress Sridevi’s mortal remains have arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, night. After around 72 hours of her demise, her mortal body has reached Mumbai from Dubai. Sridevi’s funeral has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2018, afternoon.
Her body was taken to her residence in Green Acres, Lokhandwala, from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in a caravan. Tight security was set up both in transit and outside the house, as an expansive number of fans had assembled to get the last glimpse of the legendary actress Sridevi.
According to sources, the mortal body of Sridevi will be kept at the Celebration sports Club in Andheri (West) for about three hours from 9.30 am onwards. This will be the time when people and her fans can get a glimpse of the actress and pay their last respect to her. After that, the final journey of Sridevi will begin at 2.00 pm from the Celebration Sports Club to Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery at S.V. Road, located in Vile Parle (West). The body is scheduled to reach Vile Parle at 3.30 pm. As per the decided arrangements, media will not be permitted inside the club as well as in the crematorium.
What about Sridevi’s family?
While returning the body from Dubai to Mumbai, the chartered Reliance Transport Embraer jet 135BJ had Boney Kapoor, brothers in law Sanjay Kapoor, Sandeep Marwah, sister in law Reena Marwah and stepson Arjun Kapoor in the flight. Other members like Sridevi’s daughters Jahnvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor were present at Mumbai Airport. Along with them, the billionaire Anil Ambani and his wife Tina Ambani was also present at the airport.
What about Investigation in Dubai?
According to sources, the investigation has been closed, as no foul play was suspected by the investigators in Dubai. After the case was being handed to Prosecutor’s office, they concluded that the death of Sridevi was caused due to ‘accidental drowning’ in the hotel room bathtub after losing consciousness, but no foul play was observed in the investigation. A tweet from the official feed of the Government of Dubai Media Office read: “The decision to release the body came after all the investigations and procedural matters followed in such incidents were completed, in order to determine all its circumstances and ensure that justice was done within the framework of the law.”
The final forensic and investigation report on Sridevi’s death revealed that she had devoured alcohol and was in an intoxicated state when she slipped and fell into the bathtub that was loaded with water. The police said that there was no unmistakable criminal motive with respect to her death; neither did she endure a cardiac arrest, as per the reports.
A day after Sridevi died, superstars like Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, visited Sridevi’s brother in law Anil Kapoor’s home in Mumbai to offer sympathies to the grieving family.
