NEW DELHI: Pained by the fresh round of controversy triggered by his revelation why four seniormost Supreme Court judges held an unprecedented press conference on January 12, retired SC judge Kurian Joseph on Sunday said the time had come to move beyond the presser.

He had re-opened the controversy while telling TOI that the judges addressed the press because they believed that someone from outside was controlling the then CJI who was allocating cases for hearing selectively to some judges with perceived political bias.

However, a week later, he said that after the press conference, then CJI Dipak Misra had taken up corrective measures and present CJI Ranjan Gogoi had continued with them. “So, there is no scope for further debate or stoking the controversy over the press conference,” he said.
